    It could be cool to set the new books aside into a pile & toss a few wild card prompts into the jar. So you’re not adding more to the original 60, but still have a chance to cycle in something new you’re excited about!

    I have an Audible TBR, a Libby TBR, and a tiny physical TBR. If I like the book a lot, it helps the itch to buy books so I can add it to my shelf. Libby helps me weed out the books that are new and can make me buy a physical copy, which I don't want to do in case I don't like the book. The number of the entire TBR is around 350. It seems a lot however, my Goodreads goal is 200 and me being at 96 so far, I'll be able to make a sizeable dent into that TBR. Pre-order books that are being released next year, deep dive and pre-order just so you know you have those "itches" bought and paid for.
    You don't know if you'll DNF something or if you'll get into a slump. DNF if it's putting you in a slump and save yourself the anxiety. 9 books is doable a month, you may surpass that so leave the cap open incase a month needs less reading. Also, if you power through that 60, you may have room to read more.

      Also you should totally make a new cart with new books you buy for next year so that you have books to choose from- you could always switch out a new book with one from the current 60 and move that to the next year cart if one sparks your interest more?

    I'm so glad that the written pre-order idea is useful...even though you didn't used it that much for the July TBR 😆.
    I think that 62 is not a bad number for the rest of the year and 9 books to be read each month is a feasible goal. I also liked Steph's idea of the allocation of bought books, with the focus being on spontaneous purchases (if you meet your goal, allocate books to either 2024/2025 TBR). I would still have any pre-order books and any bought books related to series you are reading be automatically included in the 2024 TBR cart choices.
    Have a great time reading your TBR 🙏💛!

    i’m loving this challenge!! so fun to watch! also i definitely think you can set aside books you buy for next year- if you want to limit your book buying though you could set a monthly limit and if you go over that limit than you have to add any extras to this year’s challenge? up to you on that, just a thought!!

    What about for every month where you meet your goal 1 of what you buy goes to the new cart? But if theres excess it goes to the current cart? Or something like that ❤ so if you read 9 books this month and buy 2, 1 of the books goes to the cart that you "have to read" for the challenge but because you met your goal the other is on the 2025 cart.

    I think it would be so fun for this to be a yearly challenge that you really focus on starting June of each year! That being said, I think you should start with the original 60 and add anything that comes after to a new TBR cart for 2025, including any pre-orders that you didn't mention in the first video. I also think it would be smart to maybe cap yourself on how many books you buy in a month so that you don't have to push too hard the second half of the year to read a bunch you don't have time for (but pre-orders don't count lol). If you allowed yourself to buy let's say 5 new books a month, that would already leave you with 35 new books on next year's TBR, not including any pre-orders that come out next year. Then if you only start this challenge in June, you have the whole first half of the year to read at your leisure all these books and it won't make reading stressful or not as enjoyable. Knowing that you average about 8 books a month anyway, I would maybe say you could get away with a cap of like 2 books a week which would put you at 8-10 new books a month aka your next months TBR already planned out lol man I wish I only had 60 books on my TBR...I'm afraid to count what I have to read still 😅

    you should keep all the books you've currently bought for 2024, and if you get GIFTED some books for your birthday/christmas then keep them for 2025, at the start of 2025 do a big book haul and redo this I think! book hauls are very popular.

  • @BettyHonest
    @BettyHonest Месяц назад

    I think if you buy a book in 2024 and it’s released that year, it goes to the cart/towards the challenge. You could just go on a book buying spree in Nov/Dec for 2025 TBR
    As a mood reader myself, I cannot stick to a predetermined TBR. I will just rebel (against myself, I know 😂🤦‍♀️) and not end up reading anything lol but what I would do for some of your prompts that more than 1 could apply, such as “available on KU”, I would pick out several that could fill that prompt then when the time comes to pick up a new book, I would choose from that stack. But that probably wouldn’t translate to a video well 😅

  • @Joandlyndon

    I think you should stick to what gets added to the cart is 2024 books BUTTTT then what you could do is in December you can do a “25 days of new books” or something where you basically let yourself get 25 new books to start off 2025 with 😉📖👏🏼

    I like the idea of sticking with the original 60 but maybe any new books you add are like all together on a shelf of the cart (like the bottom) and the goal is to work like top down so if you finish the original 60 you "cleared the cart" but can keep going and getting a head start of next year's challenge Because let's be real, as book buyers and readers, we will never actually have a physical TBR of zero books. We will always have books waiting in the wings
